Youth Camp 2024 – Black Saturday

Morning Ascent and Prayer As the dawn breaks, we gather at the foot of the mountain, ready to embark on a physical and spiritual ascent. With each step upwards, we leave behind the distractions of the world below and draw closer to the divine presence. Upon reaching the summit, we unite in prayer, lifting our hearts and voices in gratitude and reverence to our Creator. I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die. – John 11:25 Midday Reflection and Fellowship After descending from the mountain, we find solace in rest and rejuvenation. Gathering together, we pause for midday prayer, offering thanksgiving for the blessings of sustenance and companionship. With hearts nourished by prayer, we share a communal meal, strengthening our bonds of fellowship and camaraderie. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. – Matthew 28:6

Afternoon Activities The afternoon brings laughter and camaraderie as we engage in spirited games, such as tug of war. Through friendly competition, we cultivate a sense of unity and teamwork, rejoicing in the gift of shared joy and laughter. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. – Romans 6:5

Evening Prayer and Celebration As the sun sets, we went to Tiberiade, where we gather for prayer and reflection on the divine mercy of our Lord. Guided by the teachings of Bro Pimpim, we delve deeper into the mysteries of faith, finding strength and solace in the promise of redemption. With voices raised in harmony, we practice songs of praise, preparing our hearts for the solemnity of the evening ahead. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 15:57

Easter Vigil and Procession In the solemnity of the night, we gather at Sto. Domingo parish for the Easter Vigil, a sacred journey of anticipation and joy. With candles glow, we process back to San Damiano Bukid, singing songs of jubilation and exultation. As we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord, we are reminded of the eternal promise of salvation and renewal. He is risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. -Mark 16:6 In the embrace of prayer, fellowship, and celebration, our camp experience becomes a testament to the transformative power of faith and community. May the spirit of resurrection continue to inspire and guide us on our journey of discipleship, as we seek to embody the love and compassion of our risen Lord.
