Youth Camp 2024 – Maundy Thursday

As we gather today amidst the lush surroundings of nature, we embark on a thrilling journey of self-discovery, friendship, and personal growth at SD Youth Camp 2024. In the first day of Camp we experienced different adventures with God:

🔥

Morning to 12 Noon Song Practice and warmth welcome on the participants: Gather around the SD Community as we ignite our spirits with a lively repitition of song practice session. We stoke the flames of excitement and camaraderie as we prepare for the day ahead. While welcoming the participants we share a soothing melody of a lovely voice, echoing with grace and serenity, echoing celestial melodies that uplift spirits and resonate with the divine.

🍱

Lunch and Siesta: Savoring every bite of this delectable lunch, indulging in flavors that dance on the plate and nourished our soul by the midday prayer before eating our delicious meal. Giving time of rest is really essential for everyone specially for all the participants that came from far.

Rosary, Merienda, and Teaching: After taking a restful afternoon the rosary holds significance for us, as a tool for prayer, reflection, and spiritual connection. It offers structured way to meditate on the life of Jesus and the mysteries of faith, providing comfort, guidance, and a sense of peace. Before we dive in merienda we are group by the names of saints which is very inspirational figures whose lives and deeds demonstrate the potential for spiritual growth. Followed by the short introduction by Bro. Seraphim about the theme “Igniting our Faith in God”. He gives emphasis to “We can believe in everything about God, but the question is how can we live in it?” He says that we are not living with our self but we are really living through him, in him, with him. Then after that we experienced and learned about the “Corporal Works of Mercy” By Ma’am Joanna which gives us the lesson of serving others. To feed hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to visit the imprisoned, to shelter the homeless, to visit the sick, and to bury the dead. That provide practical guidelines for expressing love, empathy, and solidarity with those in need, thereby embodying the principles of social justice and human dignity.

Sharing by fraternity, Eucharist Celebration , Washing of the feet, and Last Supper: Reflecting on life’s journey, each lesson learned becomes a stepping stone to deepen the connection with each of us through sharing pur thoughts and feelings. In essence, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming homily of Fr. Ronilo Javines, SDB Emphasizing humility is crucial in the realm of love, as it fosters mutual respect, understanding, and a genuine connection between individuals. That humility allows us to set aside our ego and pride, enabling us to truly see and appreciate the value and worth of our love ones. Then after the mass we ate our delicious dinner that holds immense significance in Christian tradition as the final meal that Jesus shared with his disciples before his crucifixion.

🙏

Vigil and Night Adoration: In the presence of the Holy Eucharist this is the moments of our spiritual preparation, anticipation, and commemoration, marking significant events or observances on the life of our God, we are really passionate to express our feelings because this vigils provide opportunities for us to engage in prayer, scripture reading, and communal worship, preparing our hearts and minds to commemorate the significance of the upcoming event in the life of Jesus. Night adoration allows us in continuous prayer and worship throughout the night, offering a sacred space for individuals to come together and engage in uninterrupted devotion to God. This continuous prayer is believed to be a powerful spiritual practice that fosters a deeper connection with God. This camp isn’t just about escaping the routine of everyday life; it’s about diving headfirst into a world of endless possibilities, where each moment is an opportunity to learn, to explore, and to connect with others.u
